With the improvement of the iPhone’s camera over the years, many accessories and lenses have been made available and most offering positive results. A German company, Schneider-Kreuznach, the parent company of Schneider Optics (the company that created the amazing iPro Lens System), have just unveiled the B+W Filter Smart-Pro Circular Polarizing Filter, for the iPhone 4, 4S and 5.
What is the B+W Smart-Pro?
The B+W Smart-Pro Circular Polarizing Filter, is a lens filter made specifically for the iPhone, but it will also connect to other smart phones, small cameras, and tablets with a maximum lens diameter of 8mm.
How does it work?
A thin self-adhesive magnetic ring is placed around the lens of the phone and the Schneider lens is then attached to it (magnetically). The polarizing filter is securely held and can be rotated to achieve the desired pole-effect.
Simply put, the lens will be used to eliminate reflections, and provide saturated and intense colours, as well as improving contrast ratios. The creators can be quoted by saying, “this effect can neither be created subsequently using software nor can an app simulate it” and “the filter is ideal for all those who want to disassociate themselves from the world of standard Hipstamatic and Instagram photography“.
